Which student deals secondary and college students can actually get, with the cheapest Leap Card for your age, the free verification apps and checked brand discounts.

Start with your age, not your student card
Most brand “student discounts” in Ireland work through Student Beans or UNiDAYS, and both need you to be 16 or over. Younger pupils usually save more through age-based child fares and free school software. Pick the one that fits:
Travel: pick the right Leap Card
Transport is the biggest everyday saving, and the right card depends on your age, not your school.

A student who hits the weekly cap pays €12 instead of €24, saving €12 every week. Outside Dublin, Cork city bus caps are €2.55 a day for young adults and students and €1.65 for children. Fares are due to rise in January 2027 (the 90-minute fare goes to €1.15 for students and €0.75 for children).
- Irish Rail: children aged 5–18 pay half the adult fare, capped at €31. Student and young-adult Intercity fares need a Young Adult or Student Leap Card as ID. Leap credit doesn’t pay for Intercity tickets.
- Coaches: a Student Leap Card unlocks student reductions on participating commercial coach services. A school ID alone isn’t enough.

Most brands below check that you’re a student through one of these. Each one is free except ISIC, and each checks you again every year.

Some big brands, including Nike, ASOS, Dell and Spotify, verify you directly through SheerID instead. TOTUM is a UK card, so it isn’t worth buying here.

Every offer below was checked on the brand’s own Irish page or its Irish Student Beans or UNiDAYS listing on 8 October 2026. Dated promotions disappear after they end. Codes rarely stack with sale codes, so compare the student price with any sale price first.

No student discount: don’t waste your time
We couldn’t find a current student discount for Ireland at these, so look for their regular sales instead:
- Penneys, Zara, H&M and New Look: no current Irish student discount. Check our H&M sale dates instead.
- Harvey Norman and Easons: no student discount. See our Harvey Norman sale dates and Currys offers before buying a laptop.
- Headspace: its student plan isn’t available in Ireland.
- Disney+: the 15% off an annual plan listed on student apps is open to everyone, so you don’t need to verify.
Recently ended: the “students go free” car-ferry offers from Stena Line (code UNI) and Irish Ferries (1UNI27) closed for bookings on 30 September 2026. Older posts still list them.
For teachers and school groups
- Microsoft 365 A1 and Canva for Education are free for schools; Canva lets teachers invite whole classes.
- Abbey Theatre for All: €5 tickets for approved DEIS schools and community groups, usually Monday–Thursday, for groups of 5–30.
- Bord Gáis Energy Theatre: on certain shows, a teacher goes free with a group of 10 or more students, with no booking fees.
