SSE Reward: 20% off day tickets

SSE Airtricity advertises a 20% Dublin Zoo day-ticket discount for SSE Reward members. If you’re eligible, visit the rewards portal and follow its instructions to claim your offer.

Check the member terms, eligible ticket types, expiry and final price before booking. The public sponsorship page does not specify the price the 20% is taken from, so don’t assume an extra 20% off the online prices below. Check whether other offers can be combined.

Two adults + two children

The €62.50 online family ticket saves €12.50 against the €75 gate family ticket. Separate online tickets total €79 (2 × €22.50 + 2 × €17), so choosing the family option saves €16.50.

One adult + one child

Online day tickets total €39.50; the gate total is €46.50. That is €7 saved without a code. These examples assume children aged 3–15 and standard admission.

When does an annual pass make sense?

The Family Pass costs €245; an Individual Pass costs €175. Both last 12 months. The Individual Pass can cover its holder plus one adult or two children. The Family Pass includes the holder plus one adult and up to four children, among other combinations. Children must be under 16.

Family of four: fourth visit

At €62.50 per online family visit, three visits cost €187.50 and four cost €250. The €245 Family Pass becomes cheaper on visit four, saving €5 at that point.

Two adults: fourth visit

Two online adult tickets cost €45. Three visits cost €135; four cost €180. A €175 Individual Pass covering its holder and one adult becomes cheaper on visit four.

These comparisons use the same visitors and online day prices, exclude spending on food or travel, and assume unchanged prices. Separate events are not included in the calculation. Fota entry and other pass benefits may add value if you use them. Promotional ticket savings can move the break-even point later; the examples above use standard online prices.

Before you book

  • Children under three enter free, but still need adding to the booking.
  • Day tickets require a date. Flexi tickets allow one visit within two months; compare the extra cost with the flexibility you need.
  • Tickets are generally non-refundable and non-transferable. Special events need separate booking.
  • Additional-needs admission has its own prices and carer arrangements. Check the required documentation before booking.
  • You can ask at the gate to credit a standard day ticket towards an annual pass before leaving on the same day, capped at €84 towards a Family Pass or €53 towards an Individual Pass.

Gift vouchers aren’t automatically a discount

A Zoo gift card gives the recipient a way to pay; it does not itself reduce the ticket price. Choose a ticket based on your group and visit plans first.
